Thursday, Oct 2nd, 7 PM to 8:30 PM
It's the fall equinox, which marks the day of the year when darkness begins to dominate. By aligning our body's energy with the seasons, we can connect with the natural rhythms of the earth. What's that mean for our practice? Rest, contemplation and renewal. Yin yoga is a great way to connect with your body's subtle rhythms and energies, passively releasing tension through deeper stretches and longer holds. This is a great way to turn off and tune in.
The class will include Yin yoga postures, meditation, and pranayama (breathing exercises). Perfect for any level yogi - the yin postures are static floor postures.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin Yoga, a style of yoga, is an approach that some may have never even heard of. One that takes many a few times to really warm up to and even understand. Initially called “Daoist” yoga, this style of yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body (vs. the superficial tissues) and the fascia that covers the body; it is to help regulate the flow of energy in the body.
